The Parent-Child Class is held one day a week for children ages 12 months to 3 years old. This is a great way for parents and children to experience Waldorf early childhood education together. It provides a bridge to children as they prepare for preschool. It also provides a resource for parents who would like to incorporate Waldorf concepts into their home life.
The preschool-kindergarten is a developmentally appropriate, mixed-age program for children from 3 to 6. Play, fantasy and movement characterize daily life in the classroom and lay the foundation for later academic success. Every day, under the direction of the teacher, children play circle games and engage in creative free play both indoors and out. The rhythm of the day also includes storytime and practical work, such as baking bread or finger knitting. Children may attend two, three or five days a week.
Grade School
Waldorf education at Water’s Edge School provides a challenging classical curriculum for the grade school child. It encompasses a variety of subjects and activities that support the different stages of child development. Our program integrates fine arts, practical arts, music, movement and languages with academics. We serve children in grades 1 through 8.
